What Is a Legal Notice Advertisement and Why Is It Required?

As per Chapter 50 of the Florida Statutes, businesses registering a fictitious name must publish a notice in a newspaper located in the county of their primary business address. This is referred to as a Legal Notice Advertisement.

🔍 Important:
This publication is in addition to your registration with Sunbiz and must be completed separately.

Failing to meet this requirement may prevent your business or its owners from initiating any legal actions in the state of Florida until the publication is properly completed.

About the Labor Law Poster Requirement
According to Federal Law (29 USC § 666(i) & § 2005), every business with at least one employee must display a current Labor Law Poster in a visible location within the workplace.

Non-compliance can lead to:

Fines over $7,000 per violation

The risk of lawsuits or legal penalties

Stay compliant and avoid costly infractions by ensuring your Labor Law Poster is up to date and properly displayed.
